Carver County has been named Minnesota’s healthiest county in the new “County Health Rankings” report, while Cass County is at the bottom of the list. Counties were ranked on such factors as smoking, obesity, physical inactivity and teen birth rates. After Carver, Minnesota’s top five healthiest counties are Steele, Waseca, Dodge and Scott. Other local county rankings include: McLeod at number 7, Le Sueur County is number 11, Nicollet County is ranked 16th on the list, Redwood County is 18th, Brown County is number 21 among Minnesota’s 87 counties, Blue Earth number 25, Sibley County is number 44 in the rankings, Martin County is number 58 and Watonwan 59, Renville County is number 74, and Cottonwood County is ranked the 78th healthiest county in Minnesota.
