A Henderson man is in custody in the Sibley County Jail over allegations that he physically abused his girlfriend’s 15-month-old daughter. 24-year-old Bryan Christopher Delbridge has been charged with felony 3rd-degree assault, domestic assault, and malicious punishment of a child. He was reportedly taking care of his girlfriend’s 2 children while she worked overnights when the crime occurred. The toddler suffered numerous injuries, including multiple bumps and bruises on her face and head. Delbridge initially told authorities that the girl was hit by a door as he opened it, but later reportedly admitted to getting frustrated with the child because she would cry for no reason and refused to take her bottle. He claims to have several mental health issues, but also has prior assault and harassment convictions from the State of Washington. His bail has been set at $5,000 cash with several conditions, including having no contact with the victim. He faces up to 5 years in prison, and will be in court for an Omnibus Hearing on April 4th.
