The GFW School Board approved more than a hundred thousand dollars worth of capital and deferred maintenance projects this week. The district will spend a total of $70,000 on new servers and network switches and other technical items to increase capacity and replace outdated gear. The south wall of the Fairfax gym will be reinforced and cracks will be repaired for around $13,500, the gym floor at the Fairfax campus will be resurfaced and an updated T-Bird logo will be added for a total of $19,650, and the high school football field scoreboard will be replaced for $15,000. The current scoreboard is too old to be repaired with new parts. In other business, the GFW School Board approved the Spanish Club’s trip to Panama this summer.
