A 24-year-old Willmar man was sentenced to over 6 years in prison this week for selling cocaine to a Brown-Lyon-Redwood Drug Task Force agent and task force informant. Sammy Sandoval Jr was sentenced to a total of 74 months in prison on a first-degree drug sale charge for selling over 15-grams of cocaine in June of 2011. He had pleaded guilty to the charge in December, and was sentenced to the shortest possible sentence. He could have received over 8 years in prison for the crime. As part of his sentence he was also fined $50 and ordered to pay $600 in restitution.
