A Ceylon man who pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree murder last month was sentenced to over 49 years in prison Monday. 30-year-old Brian Daniel Freeman entered a home in Blue Earth in February of 2012 and used a hammer to kill 37-year-old Christopher Fulmer. Freeman’s estranged wife, Candice Freeman, and her two teenage daughters were also hit with the hammer and suffered severe injuries, including skull fractures. Freeman had also pleaded guilty to 3 counts of first-degree assault last month in addition to the murder charge. He will spend at least 33 years in prison before being eligible for supervised release. He was also ordered to pay around $16,800 in restitution in court Monday.
