The BOLD School Board has approved the purchase of a total of 540 Apple iPad2s for the district’s high school students. The total cost of acquiring the computer tablets is over $221,000, which includes 2 days of training for $9,000 and 3 iPad carts for nearly $7,800. The iPads will be used beginning next school year. BOLD chose the Fair Market Value budget plan for the devices, which allows the district to return them to Apple after the 3-year purchase ends. BOLD can also purchase them for current market value at that time, or continue to lease them.
