MLC softball player Andrea Biedenbender (New Ulm, Minn./MVL) was named UMAC Player of the Week for her performance in the Knights’ first week of the season.
Biedenbender had a big week at the plate for the Knights, batting .591 with a slugging percentage of .909 in eight games for MLC out of the clean-up spot in the order. She also hit the first two home runs of her career, scored 11 runs, and walked five times to push her on-base percentage to .667.
The sophomore catcher helped MLC finish 4-4 in the opening week, including finishing 4-2 at the two-day tournament hosted by North Central at the Plymouth Creek Dome.
The Knights are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, April 3, when they travel to Bethany Lutheran for game one of a triangular. The first game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
