A Vernon Center man was injured in a car crash on Highway 169 Monday morning. It happened at just after 5am about 2 miles north of Winnebago. 20-year-old Alberto Padron of Vernon Center was driving a Ford Mustang northbound on 169 when he collided with an eastbound Chevy pickup truck in the intersection with 240th Street. Padron suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the Blue Earth Area Hospital for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck, 64-year-old Lyle Wolle of Truman was not hurt. Both vehicles took severe damage.
