A former New Ulm man is in custody in the Brown County Jail for being a fugitive from justice in North Dakota. 34-year-old Ryan Jason Paulson had been charged with felony unauthorized use of personal identifying information and theft of property in Williams County, North Dakota, but then failed to appear in court and apparently fled to Minnesota. He was arrested for various outstanding warrants in late January, and transported to the Brown County Jail. He was charged with felony fugitive from justice on Thursday in Brown County Court, and will be extradited back to North Dakota. Paulson has an extensive criminal history in Minnesota dating back 16 years, including theft, check forgery, identity theft, assault, DWI, and much more.
