Fatal Accident Near Milan 05 Feb 13

The Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate an incident Monday morning near the City of Milan that left a 61-year-old Granite Falls man dead. It happened at shortly before 7am on Highway 59 just north of Milan in Chippewa County. A southbound Kenworth semi-truck driven by 66-year-old Dennis Clark of Vernal, Utah was apparently pulling an oversized load of metal hoppers used for cement when the load failed to clear an overhead railroad bridge, causing the 3 huge hoppers to fall off the truck and onto a southbound Toyota Camry driven by George Piasecki of Granite Falls. He was dead at the scene. Authorities say that the Toyota was attempting to pass the truck when the accident occurred. The truck driver was not hurt
