The Minnesota Court of Appeals has denied the appeal of a former pastor from rural Gibbon found guilty of molesting a 16-year-old foreign exchange student. 53-year-old David Edwin Radtke, who now lives in Kansas, was convicted of 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct last year for inappropriately touching the girl while she stayed in his home. Radtke argued to the appeals court that the girl said the assault happened while she was dreaming, and that a confession he made to Wisconsin Police should have been suppressed at trial. The court disagreed, and the conviction was upheld. Radtke was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 15 years of supervised probation for the crime. He was also ordered to complete 200 hours of community service and to register as a predatory offender, is prohibited from possessing pornography, and may have no contact with persons under 18 while on probation.
