Charges of attempted 1st-degree murder against a Redwood Falls man were dropped on Friday in Renville County Court. 46-year-old Brian Noel Hester was charged after a 38-mile-long high-speed car chase on December 3rd that ran through Renville and Redwood counties. He also faces charges of 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, fleeing a police officer, driving while impaired and driving after cancellation. The two attempted murder charges against Hester were dropped due to a lack of evidence during a court hearing on Friday. The chase allegedly reached speeds of upwards of 80 miles-per-hour, and Hester reportedly drove his pickup truck through the City of Morton at around 70 miles-an-hour. No officers involved in the chase reported any injuries. The case is scheduled to go to trial in early April. Hester remains in custody in the Renville County Jail.
