An Austin man accused of assaulting a woman in Mankato and then robbing a man on the street before leading police on a high-speed car chase was released from jail Wednesday after reaching a plea deal. 21-year-old Jordan Lee Hernandez Cox pleaded guilty to 1st-degree robbery and 3rd-degree assault, as well as DWI, and additional charges of robbery, assault and fleeing police in a motor vehicle were dismissed. He had been in the Blue Earth County Jail since his arrest on July 17th. Cox was only facing around 2-and-a-half years in prison for the crimes prior to making the plea deal. He’ll now likely receive a “Time Served” sentence. He’s scheduled to be in court today (FRI).
