Water Tower Committee Appointment 23 Jan 13

The New Ulm Public Utilities Commission on Tuesday chose a representative to serve on the new “Nehl’s Park Elevated Storage Tank Aesthetics Committee.” Commissioner Dan Beranek will represent the PUC on the committee, which will be responsible for picking out the color of the new water tower to be constructed in Nehl’s Park, as well as whether there will be a city logo on the tower and how the tower will align with the park topography. The Nehl’s Park water tower will replace the aging tower at Hermann Heights Park in supplying water for the New Ulm hilltop area. The new committee will also include representatives from the New Ulm Park and Rec Department and the Minnesota DNR, as well as a New Ulm City Councilor.
