Threats To Schools Charges 08 Jan 13

A 15-year-old Sleepy Eye student was charged with felony terroristic threats on Monday in Brown County Court after allegedly making threats towards several area schools. Sleepy Eye Police Chief John Schueller says that a person in California saw the threatening post on Facebook on Friday and called the police. The shooting threats were directed towards the public high schools in Sleepy Eye and New Ulm, as well as the Riverbend Area Learning Center. The schools implemented extra security precautions on Monday. The suspect was arrested at his home on Saturday, and no weapons were found. He was ordered to return to juvenile detention following his court appearance Monday. He’ll be back in court next Monday.
