A former Nicollet School administrator accused of stealing nearly $1,500 in district funds is scheduled to be in court for an Omnibus Hearing on Tuesday. 31-year-old Justin Berg of rural Le Sueur County faces felony theft and theft of public funds charges for allegedly taking ticket sales and concession stand money on several occasions while serving as Nicollet Activities Director, Dean of Students and Director of Community Education. A hidden camera system reportedly caught him taking money out of the school safe after several hundred dollars had already gone missing. Berg claims to have been only transporting the money to the concession stand. He resigned from the Nicollet school district in October, and now faces the possibility of spending up to 5 years in prison. The main purpose of an Omnibus Hearing is to determine the admissibility of evidence as the case moves towards a trial.
