New Ulm Embezzler Sentenced 02 Jan 13

A New Ulm man accused of embezzling nearly $100,000 has been sentenced to 60 days in jail and 20 years of probation for the crimes. 59-year-old Robert James Reinhart was originally charged with a total of 16 felony counts after being accused of taking around $92,000 from the Brown County Agricultural Society and nearly $8,000 from the New Ulm Baseball Association while treasurer of those organizations. He pleaded guilty to 2 counts of felony theft – diverting corporate property – and was sentenced on Monday in Brown County Court. He has also been ordered to pay restitution and attend victim mediation, and is forbidden from serving as the treasurer of any non-profit organization and is restricted from the Brown County Fairgrounds without written permission.
