The LeSueur County Sheriff’s Office has issued a thin ice warning for Lake Gorman southeast of Le Center, and is calling for no motor vehicles on the lake. The recent high winds and rain have caused there to be open water across much of the lake, and authorities say that even if it re-freezes it will still be potentially dangerous. Signs have been posted at all access points calling for no motor vehicle traffic of any kind. The recent fluctuations in temperatures have created similar thin ice situations on other lakes around the area, and officials are urging caution to anyone venturing out onto the ice.
