Local Historical Grants 04 Jan 13

The Minnesota Historical Society has announced that over $155,000 worth of grants are being awarded in dozens of counties across the state to help organizations preserve and share Minnesota history. Local recipients of the grants include Brown County’s Milford Township, which is receiving $2,500 to have the District 50 School, currently serving as the Milford Township Hall, evaluated for possible inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. The City of New Prague is receiving $7,000 to conduct a historic context study for the city, and the City of Gaylord is also getting $7,000 to prepare a Historic Preservation Plan for the community.
