A home in Lamberton was destroyed by a fire this week. The residence on South Grove Street was fully engulfed in flames when Lamberton firefighters arrived at about 9:45am Monday, and crews were on the scene for about 5 hours. The Sanborn Fire Department provided mutual aid. The home is owned by Kenny Widener, and the 2 elderly residents were able to escape without injury. The Red Cross was on hand to provide them assistance. The cause of the fire has not been determined, but it is believed to have started in the home’s chimney.
