A Mankato man was injured early this (FRI) morning when he lost control of his vehicle on Highway 14. It happened at just before 3am in Mankato. 24-year-old Michael Mata was getting on Highway 14 from North Victory Drive when he lost control of his Mitsubishi Gallant and struck the median guard cable. Mata was taken to the Mankato Mayo Hospital with unidentified injuries. The State Patrol says that alcohol was detected in his system.
