Flu Affects Sleepy Eye 03 Jan 13

The Sleepy Eye Medical Center is closed to visitors until further notice due to an increase in cases of influenza and flu-like illnesses. The precautionary measure of closing the hospital to visitors is intended to prevent the spread of influenza, as well as to protect patients and staff, and the community at-large. Restricting contact with possible contamination is the best way to halt the spread of the flu, which has already reached widespread levels around Minnesota. Washing your hands frequently and using alcohol-based cleaners to disinfect surfaces where the flu virus might reside are other ways to help prevent the spread of influenza.
