The bomb squad was called out to a truck stop near Albert Lea on Tuesday during an unusual standoff that sent a 26-year-old man to the hospital for a mental evaluation. Authorities say that the man claimed to be ex-military, and told them there were bombs packed in his car. The truck stop and nearby businesses were evacuated, and the Bloomington Bomb Squad arrived three hours later, but found no explosives. Investigators say the man appeared to be living in the vehicle. His name has not been released at this time.
