Twins Sign Harden, Liriano To Pittsburgh 22 Dec 12

The Twins have signed pitcher Rich Harden to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training. The 31-year-old had surgery on his right rotator cuff on January 31st and missed the entire 2012 season. Harden made 15 starts for the Oakland A’s in 2011, going 4-and-4 with a 5.12 ERA. For his career, the right-hander is 59-and-38 with a 3.76 ERA in nine seasons.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to terms with former Twins pitcher Francisco Liriano. The “Minneapolis Star-Tribune” reports it’s a two-year deal worth 14-million-dollars, pending a physical. Liriano split last season between the Twins and Chicago White Sox, going a combined 6-and-12 with a 5.34 ERA. The left-hander is 53-and-54 with a 4.40 ERA for his career.
