State Representative Terry Morrow of St. Peter is resigning for a new job. Morrow announced his resignation Wednesday. He says he’ll serve out the rest of his current term, which ends on January 8th. Morrow is a communications professor at Gustavus Adolphus College. He has reportedly been hired to lead legislative efforts nationwide for the Chicago-based Uniform Law Commission, which aims to help states draft laws that are consistent from state to state and with federal statutes. Morrow says he was approached about the job after he was re-elected to a fourth term in November. Governor Dayton will be charged with setting the date for a special election in Morrow’s district. Until the seat is filled, Democrats hold a 72-61 majority in the state House of Representatives.
