Soliciting Minors Court Date 20 Dec 12

A 61-year-old Sleepy Eye man accused of making sexual advances to a police officer posing as a 15-year-old girl online was permitted to remain free on his own recognizance following an appearance in court Tuesday. Unconditional bail for Jon Robert Jahnke was set at $10,000 after he was charged with 3 counts of electronic solicitation of a child for the incident, which occurred in January of 2010. A special agent with the Wisconsin Department of Justice working undercover in an online chat room was allegedly contacted by Jahnke, who then engaged “her” in a conversation that lasted several hours and involved offers to meet in person as well as descriptions of sexually explicit acts and sexual photos. Now he’s facing up to 3 years in prison. The conditions of his release include no contact with females under 18 other than family, no use of internet chat rooms, and no possession or viewing of pornography. He’s scheduled to be back in court March 5th.
