The search for a new superintendent for the Sibley East School District begins a new phase this week. Retired Sibley East Superintendent John Langenbrunner is serving as the district’s interim superintendent this school year after former superintendent Stephen Jones went to the Little Falls School District. The South Central Service Cooperative and the Sibley East School Board have been meeting with staff, students, parents, and other community members over the past month to determine what residents want from a superintendent. The position will now reportedly be posted beginning Tuesday, with applications accepted through January 18th. Then the candidates will be screened and a list of 6 finalists presented to the Sibley East School Board on January 28th. Interviews are expected to be held in early February, with the hope being to sign a contract with a new superintendent on February 19th.
