Peppermint Candy Pie 28 Dec 12

 2 – 6oz pkgs chocolate chips
6 tbsp butter
2 cups rice cereal
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup milk
3 pints peppermint ice cream
crushed peppermint candy

Melt 1 package chocolate chips with 2 tbsp butter in saucepan; remove from heat. Stir in cereal and walnuts. Spread over bottom and side well buttered 9 inch pie plate. Chill until firm. Combine remaining chocolate chips, remaining butter with milk in small saucepan. Heat slowly, stirring constantly until chocolate melts and sauce is smooth. Cool. Spoon ice cream into shell. Drizzle with several spoonfuls of the chocolate sauce and sprinkle with crushed peppermint-stick candy. Cut pie into wedges and serve with remaining chocolate sauce.
