NHL Files Unfair Labor Charge Against NHLPA 15 Dec 12

The National Hockey League is claiming unfair labor practice by the Players’ Association. The league has filed a complaint against the union with the National Labor Relations Board, as well as a class action complaint in federal court seeking a declaration confirming the ongoing legality of the lockout. The moves come in response to news the players have or will be asked to vote to authorize the NHLPA’s Executive Board to “disclaim interest” in continuing to represent the players in collective bargaining.
