New Ulm Truth In Taxation 04 Dec 12

The New Ulm City Council is holding the community’s annual “Truth In Taxation” hearing for the 2013 budget and tax levy today (TUE). The public hearing begins at 6pm at New Ulm City Hall. The proposed budget for next year for New Ulm has been reduced by over 5% from the earlier preliminary budget, and is now just under $20.5-million. The preliminary property tax levy for New Ulm for 2013 called for a more-than 19% increase over this year’s level, but that increase has now been brought down to a little over 4% through several new budget cuts impacting city operations and local organizations.
