It Was A Cold Christmas 26 Dec 12

The majority of Minnesotans experienced their coldest Christmas in over a decade on Tuesday. In New Ulm the mercury got up to only 6-degrees for Christmas, nearly 40-degrees colder than it was last year, when the temperature in New Ulm for Christmas reached 44-degrees. But even yesterday’s 6-degrees was nice compared to New Ulm’s record low temp for Christmas, which was 19-below zero in the year 2000. Many other areas of the state saw only single-digit highs this Christmas as well, and in the Twin Cities the mercury reached only 13-degrees, making it the coldest Christmas in that area since 1996.
