Golden Gopher men’s basketball coach Tubby Smith captured his 500th career win with a 71-57 victory over USC on Saturday night in Los Angeles. Smith becomes the 91st NCAA Division I coach to get to the 500 milestone and the 19th active head coach to accomplish the feat. He was the 24th fastest to the number. His team is ranked 14th in the country and it is likely it will move up at least one spot in the media poll later today. Minnesota is 10-and-1 on the season and will entertain 8-and-2 North Dakota State tomorrow night at Williams Arena at 8 p.m.
