Jerry Kill’s Golden Gopher football team will be back on the practice field today, as they continue to prepare for the December 28th Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas. Minnesota squares off with Texas Tech in Houston for the postseason game. The Gophers are allowed 15 total practices leading up to the contest, and have worked out three times so far. The team will practice on campus Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week. Tickets for the bowl game are on sale at the Gophers’ webpage.
It appears the departure of head football coach Tommy Tuberville [[ TUBB-er-vill ]] at Texas Tech has left the coaching staff in chaos as they prepare for a bowl game against the Golden Gophers later this month. Tuberville left the Red Raiders to take the same job at the Cincinnati. Now, his offensive coordinator at Texas Tech has left the staff to take the same job at Kentucky. Neal Brown left the Red Raiders earlier this week. That leaves offensive line coach Chris Thomsen as the interim head coach to lead the team against Minnesota in the December 28th Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas. Houston is the host city for the ballgame.
