Minnesota law enforcement officers are increasing DWI patrols statewide beginning this weekend . The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over effort will involve county sheriff’s offices, municipal police departments and the Minnesota State Patrol working overtime hours in a focus on drunk driving through the rest of the month. December is a potentially deadly month due to holiday celebrations, with a total of 28 people being killed in drunk driving crashes in Minnesota during the last three Decembers. Nearly 7,500 Minnesotans were arrested for DWI over that time period as well. The drunk driving crackdown is also taking place nationwide.
