A Gibbon man was killed in a head-on crash in Mower County Saturday night. 61-year-old David Rettmann was driving a 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo southbound on Highway 63 when he apparently crossed into the northbound lane at just after 11pm and crashed into a 2011 Kia driven by 29-year-old man from Rochester. Rettmann was dead at the scene, and the other driver is in critical condition at St. Mary’s in Rochester. Two passengers in the Kia received non-life threatening injuries as well. The State Patrol says that all of those involved were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol was detected in Rettmann’s system.
