Cell Phone Caught Kidnapper 06 Dec 12

The woman accused of kidnapping her own children from a foster home in Pemberton last week remains in custody in Blue Earth County, and her bail has been set at $40,000. A nationwide arrest warrant had been issued for 21-year-old Reina Gandarilla after she took her 2-year-old son and 4-month-old daughter from the home in Pemberton, where she had also been staying. She lost her parental rights earlier this year for not providing adequate living conditions for the children. The 3 were found at a hotel in Mankato earlier this week, primarily through the use of her cell phone records, which showed that she was still in Mankato. Gandarilla is being charged with depriving another of parental rights, and faces up to 2 years in prison.
