Winter Classic Cancelled 03 Nov 12

The NHL has canceled the 2013 Winter Classic. The league called off the annual outdoor game due to the ongoing labor stalemate. This year’s Winter Classic was set to be played in front of more than 100-thousand fans at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. The Detroit Red Wings were going to play the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 1st. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild were supposed to play at Tampa Bay tonight, but that game was wiped out to to the labor dispute, as well.
