Authorities spent around 3 hours attempting to wrangle a wandering cow in Mankato on Tuesday. The cow had apparently come from a farm north of the town at some point early Tuesday. Mankato police received the report that the cow was on the loose on 3rd Avenue near the intersection with Highway 14 at about 9:30am, and several deputies and community services officers did everything possible to keep the cow away from the highway. It was coaxed into a trailer and returned to its owner at around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.
