Minnesota’s flu season is off to a slow start, but the state Health Department is reporting one nursing home outbreak in the past week. There were a total of three people hospitalized with influenza over the past week as well, bringing the statewide total up to six overall. The nursing home outbreak was in Mille Lacs County. No outbreaks have been reported in Minnesota schools at this time. The Center for Disease Control says that just three states have shown any significant flu activity so far this fall: Iowa, Texas and Wyoming.
