A Lamberton man faces criminal charges for allegedly shooting at hunters that he claimed were on his property. The incident happened Sunday morning off the River Road in northern Redwood County. 46-year-old Tod David Shepard reportedly approached a group of hunters and fired several shots at them following a confrontation. The hunters have since admitted to being on the wrong side of a fence on property owned by Gerald Blue. Shepard claims that he was exchanging words with the hunters when a deer came across the ravine, and that is when he fired his gun. He told law enforcement that if he had been shooting at the hunters he would have hit them. He was then taken into custody, and now faces 2 counts of 2nd-degree assault as well as a terroristic threats charge.
