One of the two women accused of going on a shoplifting spree at Wal-Mart stores in 5 states, including Minnesota, has pleaded guilty to theft in Blue Earth County Court. 26-year-old Samantha Velez-Diaz, along with 59-year-old Noe Baldiva-Corral allegedly stole DVD’s from numerous Wal-Mart stores and mailed them to an organized shoplifting ring in California. While in Minnesota the 2 allegedly stole from the Worthington and Owatonna Wal-Marts, and were caught near New Auburn after a theft at the Mankato store. They allegedly stole a total of around $14,000 worth of movies in Minnesota, and over $100,000 worth overall. Velez-Diaz now faces extradition back to California following her guilty plea this week. She’s scheduled to be sentenced in Blue Earth County next month.
