A Level 3 Sex Offender in custody in the Brown County Jail since April was sentenced to a year in jail on Tuesday in Brown County Court. 48-year-old James Allen Binger was arrested in early April for allegedly peeking through windows of homes in New Ulm, only 4 days after his release from jail for a previous parole violation. That violation came after Binger exposed himself to a man at New Ulm’s Minnecon Park last November. He had originally served an 86-month prison sentence for criminal sexual conduct involving young boys in Renville and Nicollet Counties before moving to New Ulm several years ago. He pleaded guilty to interfering with privacy as part of a plea deal, and was given credit for the 213 days he has served in jail. He will be monitored by 5 department of corrections agents beginning next week as part of his court-ordered intensive supervised release.
