A national search firm is assisting the City of redwood Falls in finding a new CEO for the Redwood Area Hospital. Former hospital CEO James Schulte was terminated from the position in early August after allegations that he had been “double-dipping” on travel expenses on several occasions surfaced. The Minneapolis-based firm Witt-Kieffer has been brought in to help find Schulte’s replacement, and it’s representatives have recently been meeting with a variety of individuals to learn about the Redwood Area Hospital’s culture, opportunities and challenges – as well as the ideal profile for the hospital’s next CEO. Witt-Kieffer specializes in healthcare, higher education and non-profit businesses and organizations. The company will identify potential candidates for the job in the coming weeks, and interviews will then get underway. The hope is to have a new hospital CEO hired by this coming Spring.
