Redwood Falls Counterfeit Bills 17 Nov 12

Counterfeit hundred dollar bills have been showing up in the City of Redwood Falls in recent days, and the Redwood Falls Police Department is urging businesses to use caution when accepting big bills. A Redwood Falls bank had reported receiving at least 2 phony bills over the past 2 weeks, and investigators believe the counterfeits may have come from a person in the Marshall area who had been arrested for producing fake hundreds. Authorities say that it is possible there are more counterfeit bills still in circulation in the area, and citizens and businesses are being encouraged to check the security measures within large bills before accepting them. A list of US currency security measures can be found on the websitewww.secretservice.gov under the “Know Your Money” link.
