A Hanska man accused of assaulting, kidnapping and threatening his former girlfriend, as well as being involved in a stand-off with police reached a plea deal with authorities on Monday. 29-year-old Brandon Michael Hall held Mankato police at bay by holding a knife to his own throat at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment for about a half-hour while babysitting the woman’s 2-year-old daughter in late July. He had been placed on Mankato’s Most Wanted list after failing to appear at a court hearing for allegedly holding a knife to the woman’s throat when she broke up with him earlier in July. The standoff with police happened after authorities received an anonymous tip. Hall had faced multiple charges, including kidnapping and terroristic threats, but pleaded guilty to obstruction and the other charges were dismissed. A 23-month prison sentence was stayed and he was given credit for 86 days in jail and ordered to serve 3 years on probation.
