A 19-year-old rural New Ulm man involved in a more-than 4-hour stand-off with police last week was formally charged with multiple counts of domestic assault on Monday. Authorities were called out to a residence on 225th Street just west of New Ulm at shortly after 11:30am last Wednesday, and when deputies arrived on the scene they learned that Erick Alade Fredrick Bunce had allegedly assaulted a woman in the home and was currently somewhere in the house with a shotgun. He surrendered peacefully at just before 4pm and was taken to the New Ulm Medical Center before being transferred to the Brown County Jail. Bunce was charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation and interfering with a 911 call on Monday, as well as lessor charges. He was then released from custody with multiple conditions.
