A former Nicollet School administrator accused of stealing nearly $1,500 in district funds is scheduled to make an appearance in court this week. 31-year-old Justin Berg of rural Le Sueur County faces felony theft and theft of public funds charges for allegedly taking ticket sales and concession stand money on several occasions while serving as Nicollet Activities Director, Dean of Students and Director of Community Education. A hidden camera system reportedly caught him taking money out of the school safe after several hundred had already gone missing, but Berg claims to have been simply transporting the money to the concession stand. He resigned from the Nicollet school district in October, and Superintendent Jack Eustice took over the activity director duties, with Nicollet Principal Jennifer Baumgartner assuming the rest of Berg’s responsibilities. He is due back in court on Tuesday.
