The NHL and its Players’ Association ended mediated discussions on Thursday. It was the second straight day the two sides met with federal mediators. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly states the two sides are far apart and that the mediation process was unsuccessful. The league has already canceled 422 total regular season games, the Winter Classic and the All-Star Weekend due to the current lockout, which began in mid-September. The Wild had been scheduled to play in Colorado tonight.
