Medicare Secret Shoppers 26 Nov 12

The Minnesota Commerce Department is deploying undercover investigators to Medicare workshops and public events throughout the state to ensure that insurance companies are complying with regulations during the open enrollment period. The goal of the “Secret Shopper Program” is to protect seniors from unlawful sales and marketing practices. Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman says even though 99% of the insurance companies follow the rules, seniors are urged to shop carefully. The annual open enrollment period for Medicare runs through December 7th.
