The woman accused of robbing a bank in Hutchinson this summer pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday. 26-year-old Erica Lea Reeves admitted that she and 25-year-old Eric Andrew Ebbers stole over $5,700 from the Citizens Bank on Highway 15 in Hutchinson on July 17th. Reeves testified that Ebbers presented a teller at the bank with a note demanding money and warning that he had a gun. After taking the money, Ebbers reportedly ran to a waiting car driven by Reeves. A car chase with McLeod County authorities then ensued that reached speeds of over 100 miles-per-hour, and when the car was finally disabled, Ebbers fled on foot into a cornfield and Reeves was arrested. Ebbers was apprehended the next day. Ebbers has since admitted to robbing a bank in Lake City as well as one in Oregon also. Both Reeves and Ebbers face the potential of up to 20 years in federal prison. Their sentencing dates have not yet been scheduled.
